About Us
Michael & Amanda Buffo
Clouds Rest CEO & Founder
The Buffo Family history has deep roots in the Gardnerville/Tahoe area and has serviced the community for decades. Michael grew up in Gardnerville and attended the University of Reno graduating with a degree in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation. Later in life he met his wife Amanda after she graduated from veterinary school at Washington State University in 2016. They immediately bonded over their interest and love for horses. The human-animal bond brought Michael and Amanda even closer when they opened Buffo’s Livestock Burial & Removal Services. Michael has been on-call for the community since 2017 helping horse and livestock owners care for their animals after their passing. Dr. Amanda Buffo works locally as a primary care and emergency veterinarian.
The couple worked tirelessly for almost two years to service the community further and founded Clouds Rest Pet Cremations. They wanted their love for animals to extend to the pets who we call our family. Their goal was to assure every pet was treated with love and kindness in the afterlife. When not working you can find Michael and Amanda in the outdoors skiing, mountain biking or team roping.
Brian Hanson

Brian Hanson is a recent addition to Clouds Rest Pet Cremations, starting in October 2023. Brian grew up in Taylorsville, California. In 1999, he graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Science. From there, Brian worked for purebred and commercial cattle operations throughout California and Nevada. He moved to Gardnerville in February 2007 to work for a ranch, and has planted his roots, raising his three kids with his wife Beth, who teaches at a local elementary school.
They are very connected to their horses and dogs which Brian has used on ranches for many years. In their spare time the Hanson family enjoys time in the outdoors, fishing, camping, skiing, and traveling.
